Hazem Al-Sayahin, General Manager of the Yarmouk Water Company, Engineer Montaser Al-Momani, said that the company's cadres, during the last depression from last Monday morning until last Thursday morning, dealt with 170 complaints of water line fractures and 197 complaints of sewage flooding. Al-Momani explained that the wrong use of sewage networks and connecting roof gutters to the sewage networks caused large quantities of rainwater to rush into the sewage networks and were larger than the size of the lines’ capacity. Which made waste water rush from some of the manholes into the streets, in addition to throwing many solid materials inside the manholes, which led to clogging of the lines. The company stressed the need to protect water meters from explosion, especially in the days of frost and freezing, by wrapping them with pieces of burlap and plastic.
