Yarmouk Water Company operates ten wastewater treatment and treatment plants serving the governorates of Irbid, Jerash, Ajloun and Mafraq. At the end of 2013, the Al Shalala purification plant was operated in Irbid governorate using new technology in the treatment and drying of sludge, production of biogas and electricity generation. The wastewater treated in 2014 is about 14 million cubic meters.
The company also works to increase the percentage of the population employed by sewage networks in the different cities and villages in the four governorates. The number of serviced properties is more than (150000) one hundred and fifty thousand, and there is an integrated system for treatment and purification of sewage water and a number of other lifting and pumping stations, The length of the network is more than (1500) km.
The Yarmouk Water Company is not limited to the purification and treatment of domestic wastewater, but also to the treatment of wastewater discharged from these stations and within the standard specifications and their full exploitation and use in irrigation of restricted crops such as corn, alfalfa and wheat. Through a number of stations such as Mafraq, Al Akeider, Ramtha, And Wadi Hassan, as well as mobile wastewater treatment plants that were recently constructed in Zatari.
