Ajloun Governorate and Yarmouk Water Company Discuss Enhancing Water Services and Improving Water Supply Ajloun – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yarmouk Water Company, Dr. Osama Al-Muhaisen, and the Governor of Ajloun, Nayef Al-Hadayat, discussed ways to enhance water services across the governorate, improve water supply, and strengthen cooperation between the Governorate and the Company to support water security and improve service efficiency. The meeting, held at the Governorate headquarters, was attended by Yarmouk Water Company General Manager Ghislain Juvanon and several company directors. Dr. Al-Muhaisen said that Yarmouk Water Company is implementing a comprehensive development programme under its management contract with Veolia, aimed at strengthening management and operational efficiency, enhancing institutional performance, and adopting international best practices in water and wastewater services, ultimately improving the quality of services provided to citizens. He added that the Company continues to implement water infrastructure projects throughout its service area while evaluating options to increase water supply to Ajloun Governorate during the coming phase. These efforts are accompanied by ongoing programmes to reduce administrative and technical water losses, improve network efficiency, and optimise the use and distribution of available water resources. Dr. Al-Muhaisen noted that Ajloun’s mountainous terrain and high elevations require specialised operational solutions and sustained investment in water infrastructure, stressing that the governorate remains one of the Company’s strategic priorities. For his part, the Governor of Ajloun, Nayef Al-Hadayat, reaffirmed the Governorate’s commitment, under the guidance of the Ministry of Interior, to providing full support and coordination with Yarmouk Water Company to facilitate the implementation of water projects and help overcome any challenges they may encounter. He stressed the importance of completing projects according to the approved timelines and expressed the Governorate’s aspiration, in coordination with Yarmouk Water Company and the relevant authorities, to increase Ajloun Governorate’s water allocation in the near future, helping reduce water supply challenges and improve the regularity of water distribution, particularly in areas affected by the governorate’s mountainous terrain and high elevations. He expressed confidence that the Company’s plans would contribute to improving water services and enhancing the overall quality of service provided to citizens. General Manager Ghislain Juvanon outlined the priorities of the management contract, explaining that the current phase focuses on improving operational performance, strengthening water management practices, enhancing customer services, reinforcing maintenance and operational activities, and modernising business systems to improve institutional efficiency and responsiveness to citizens’ needs. He added that the Company is investing in strengthening its institutional capacity and developing the capabilities of its technical and administrative teams to ensure sustainable, high-quality services across the governorates of Irbid, Jerash, Ajloun, and Mafraq. Meanwhile, Eng. Malek Al-Rashdan, Director of the Ajloun Water Directorate, said that several water projects are currently underway across the governorate to improve water supply and increase network efficiency. He noted that the Directorate continues to implement network rehabilitation programmes, reduce water losses, and enhance operational efficiency to increase water availability for customers and ensure service sustainability. He added that project implementation will continue in line with the approved plans and in close coordination with the Company’s management and relevant stakeholders to further improve water services across Ajloun Governorate. The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to maintaining close coordination to support the implementation of water projects, strengthen water security, and improve the quality of services provided to citizens
